European Heritage Days – Journées du Patrimoine
This year the European Heritage Days – Journées du Patrimoine – will take place on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21th of September.
The Berges de Seine were redesigned to accommodate the new permanent activities !
Hosting international exhibitions during the second half of the nineteenth century, the Seine has inspired artists and Parisians of all time.
Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, the sculptor who made the statues smile, is invited to Orsay for a retrospective.
The Orsay Museum is organizing, in partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts of Valenciennes, an exhibition of the work of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875). It is the first retrospective of the artist since 1975, also known for his paintings and drawings.
